I really enjoyed this example of multiple representations and how to use it practically in the classroom. Learning how to be an effective teacher, in my opinion, requires being able to see examples of strategies that have proven successful; and this, in my opinion, is one of those examples. It starts with a very clear objective:
Multiple Representations Outcome: Students will demonstrate the ability to use
verbal, graphical, numerical, and symbolic representations of mathematical ideas.
This objective is, again, very clear, and measureable, and allows the teacher to quantify success. Bravo!
